The northeastern region of India is a home for several
endangered and
endemic species. Most of these endangered species are of both
national and global importance. For effective conservation of
these species multifaceted approach is required, like –
research, monitoring, conservation infrastructure development,
sustainable livelihoods for the natural resource dependents,
public interest, political will and conservation awareness and
education. The Species conservation program of Dolphin
Foundation is aimed to address all these gap areas with special
focus on the research, monitoring, conservation education and
awareness.
